Spring forward...tic tok...
Hooray! Today is Sunday, the first day of daylight savings time. All the snow is melted and it has been raining for a few days. So as you can imagine, the muddy paws are starting to get old. I took Cruz to his first lesson with the dog trainer on Friday. Cruz did very well and I realized that it is just as much for me as it is for Cruz. Cruz was fitted for his collar and new leash, did all the commands very quickly without any complaints, and stayed focused through the 60 minute session. The trainer commented what a great puppy he is, very smart, quick to learn.
We have a guest staying with us this weekend. Our buddy Kody, the golden doodle from next door is spending the weekend with us while his family is away. Cruz loves having him here to play with. They are both really good dogs and it's interesting how much they look alike.

Well, this morning I noticed that one of Cruz's baby teeth are missing. No idea where it ended up, but it's gone! Yeah, could this be the beginning of the end of teething and nipping?
Woke up to several inches of fresh snow, on top of the already 15+/- inches. Snow is still falling, and will continue throughout the day. All the girls are off from school, and ready to play in the snow. Cruz is too:0) He spent night #2 on our bedroom floor. No more crate at night, he has our trust. All the gates have been taken down and he is free rome the house. He has been excellent and without an accident for weeks. Awesome!
I have a hard time getting him to come in from the outside today, he just loves the white stuff! Here he is looking in from outside as if to say, "Aren't you coming out to play?"
Yesterday I took him to my office at work. All the other agents were in awe. They complemented him on his temperment, behavior, beauty and all around being. Someone even commented, "That's the kind of dog I want to have." So cool! That's exactly how I found the breed. A friend of mine has a PWD that is now 6 years old. When I met her I thought she was the dog that I would get some day. Thanks Margaret & Belle!!

Cruz went in for a nail trim and did wonderful! All the employees were falling all over him in awe. He loves going with me in the car so any time I leave he runs to me to find out if he can come with. We got to meet a few new dogs from the "hood" this morning. Two labs and a mix breed. Very exciting!! Now we are waiting for the 12 inches of snow we are supposed to get tonight and into tomorrow. Can't wait! Here is a picture of Cruz having fun in the 2 inches of snow that we got on yesterday morning.

Winter Walk
Just got back from our first offical real walk. He has finally learned what a leash is ans is getting much better. Usually he would keep stopping and it ending up to be a sniffing session, instead of a walk. He made it for 15 minutes before he looked up at me like he had enough. I picked him up and carried him to give him a rest, then, back down for the home stretch. Great walk! My ears were really cold, so I figured it was long enough to be out, 20 minutes in total!! We both did great. Didn't see any other people walking their dogs, but it is early on a Saturday morning. I would of been sleeping if not woken at 6 am by a whining puppy!
